text chat operator jobs from home with Arise

This company is different because you can work at home as your own small business. They take you through all the steps to set up your own company being an Arise provider. Or, if that seems too much, you can work for a virtual call center.

There are certification classes offered to help you be able to apply for the higher-paying jobs, and those cost anywhere from $19 – $99. They say you can start earning money in 2-5 weeks, depending on how fast you complete your training.

While starting your own business seems intriguing, they are certainly selling this as a money-making venture for their company. Live chat operator jobs FAQ:

Since this isn’t the typical work scenario, many people have questions; let’s see if we can answer them for you here.

How do I become a chat operator?

We’ve done a lot of the heavy lifting here for you by finding the best companies. But if non of these work-from-home companies are what you’re looking for, then there are a few ways you can go about finding a remote chat job.

You can use job boards like Indeed, FlexJobs, Upwork, and many others. You can also contact companies directly and inquire about any openings they may have for remote customer service or live chat jobs.

What skills do you need to become a text chat operator?

Almost all job postings say the #1 thing you need is great customer service skills.
This job description phrases it so well…

“Your passion for doing good for other people will help you bond with your customers and your team. You will actively listen and troubleshoot to provide a great customer experience. Your attention to detail, ability to think outside the box, problem-solving, critical thinking skills, excellent communication, and passion will help you excel in this role.”

What is the role of a chat operator?

In a nutshell, your role is to help answer questions and solve problems when customers call in.

The requirements vary depending on the company, but most will require that you be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.

You will need excellent written communication skills, great customer service skills, and the ability to type quickly.

Almost all companies have a hardware requirement that involves a computer (usually a PC with Windows) and high-speed internet, sometimes additional small things like a headset. But don’t go out and buy any equipment before you have secured the job.

If you like the idea of making money talking to people, but don’t want something permanent, you can always get paid to talk to lonely people. There are plenty of opportunities to connect with others and make a positive difference in their life.

What makes a good chat operator?

This job is customer service-focused, so if you have experience in this or think you would be good at it, this might be a good fit for you. Also, if you type quickly, can handle more than one task, are patient and calm under pressure, and are a problem solver, you might enjoy this work-from-home job.

Is this different than being an adult chat operator?

Yes, this is completely different. Talking to people online as a live chat operator is about providing customer support, not sexual online chat at all. Yes, the names/titles are similar, but the work is very different.

If sending naughty text messages interests you (as it pays more), the adult chat industry and getting paid to sext is pretty easy to get into, and people say it’s a lot of fun (if you are comfortable with the work). It’s not for everyone, but it can be a great way to make some extra cash for those who are more adventurous!

How much does a text chat operator job from home pay?

The pay for a text chat operator job varies depending on the company, but most start their entry-level positions around $10-$12 per hour, with some offering bonuses and incentives. Some of the more popular companies will offer up to $20 per hour.

One thing that many of the companies said is that they promote from within, so there are good chances of moving up within the company quickly (if you want to).

Is chat operator job legit?

Yes! This is 100% a legit job, yet not every company that offers these positions can be considered an upstanding company. You’ll want to read our reviews here on different companies and make a list of your top 5 companies. Then Google those companies looking for user reviews.

At the end of the day

If you’re looking for a work-from-home job that is customer service-based, then you should consider becoming a live chat operator. The pay is good, the hours are flexible, and it’s a relatively easy job.

Be sure to check out the companies we mentioned above, as they are all great places to start your search for a remote text chat operator.

There are lots of live chat operator jobs to be had; which will you go after first?
